The challenge
WeConsult Ventures runs a fast-moving PR, media, and events consultancy — the kind of business where the owner's time is best spent on client relationships and campaigns, not buried in GST filings. But their transaction mix wasn't simple: a combination of standard domestic billing, input tax credits across multiple vendor categories, and SEZ (Special Economic Zone) client transactions — each with its own GST treatment. Getting any of it wrong meant either overpaying tax unnecessarily or risking compliance notices down the line.
Our approach
Rather than treating GST as a once-a-month filing task, Bridgemark worked with WeConsult as an ongoing advisory partner — reviewing how input credits were being claimed, correcting gaps where eligible credits were being missed, and specifically structuring how SEZ transactions were invoiced and reported so they qualified for the correct zero-rated treatment instead of being taxed like standard domestic sales.
What we delivered
- Input Tax Credit (ITC) Advisory
reviewed vendor invoices and expense categories to ensure all eligible credits were correctly claimed, reducing unnecessary cash outflow
- SEZ Transaction Structuring
advised on the correct documentation and invoicing treatment for SEZ client billing, ensuring zero-rated compliance instead of default taxation
- Ongoing GST Return Filing
monthly/quarterly filings managed end-to-end, accurately and on time
- Proactive Compliance Monitoring
flagged potential issues before they became notices, rather than reacting after the fact
The outcome
With GST advisory and compliance fully handled, WeConsult Ventures' owner was able to stay focused on running the consultancy — pitching clients, delivering campaigns, growing the business — without the mental overhead of tracking every GST rule change or worrying whether input credits and SEZ billing were being handled correctly.
“Good compliance shouldn’t be something a founder has to think about. It should just work quietly in the background.”
